Actor, MP Ambarish submitted resignation

Congress party MP from Mandya and Kannada cine star Ambarish submitted his resignation to AICC President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday protesting release of water to Tamil Nadu. After meeting the Chief Minister S.M. Krishna, Ambarish said, "I had given my words to the people of Mandya that I would resign if water is released. My moral sense does not allow me to continue in the present situation, so I have given my resignation" He also said, "In this matter I just don't want to blame the Chief Minister. No CM can be expected to go against a court judgment and any CM in his place would have released water. He has said the water needs of Karnataka will be fulfilled despite the water release due to recent rain in catchment area. So let us see what he can do." Ambarish suggested the agitation should take the form of dharnas in front of Vidana Soudha, rather than stopping of traffic, trade and commerce on the Bangalore-Mysore road.
