National Award for Shashidhar Adapa
Eminent art director, designer Shashidhar Adapa bagged
10th Chaman Lal Memorial Award for his outstanding contribution
to stagecraft. He will be honored in New Delhi on 17th March
2004. This National Award comprising of Rs. 25,000 cash and
a memento will be given in the memory of stagecraft designer
Chaman Lal.
Shashidhar Adapa hailing from Mangalore worked with many veterans
like B.V. Karanth, Shankarnag, M.S. Sathyu, R. Nagesh, C.R.
Simha and so on. Nagamandala, Kanooru Heggadathi, Chinnari
Muttha, Chukki Chandrama, Kotreshi Kanasu, Deveri, Singaravva
these are the award winning film for which Shashidhar worked
as an Art Director. Known for perfection in miniatures and
reality in in craftsmanship, Adapa even worked for two French
and a Hindi film. Karnataka Drama Academy honored him time
back and he bagged Karnataka State Award for Art Direction
for Nagamandala (1996-97), Kanoora Heggadathi (1999-2000)
and Singaravva (2002-2003).
