Debut directors of 2005
Quite
a good number of new directors entered the Kannada film industry
in 2005. A few of them like Veera Shanakar (Namma Basava)
and Shankar (Nammanna) are from the neighboring states who
already have a hands on experience. Ramesh Aravind's debut
film Rama Shama Bhama is running successfully and got rave
reviews. Sudeep's film My Autograph is yet to release. Ace
actress Arati's directorial debut Mitayi Mane bagged the state
award. She released it in Chamaraja Nagar to claim the Government
subsidy. So only people from award/subsidy committee can comment
on Arati's direction skills because they are the only ones
who have seen this movie in its entirety. Mahesh Babu who
directed Akash is in the top list of debut directors. The
film has completed 25 weeks successfully. Another debut Ravi
Srivathsa directed Deadly Soma, a hit film. Ratnaja's first
