Chandra Chakori sets record
Kannada
film industry is not doing good because people here are not
encouraging Kannada film is a commonly heard voice locally.
There is a reason behind this. Majority of the films made
here go for a toss due to various reasons. An exception to
this phenomenon is Chandra Chakori produced by H.D. Kumaraswamy
that has created a record. This film released on August 15th
2003 and has completed unbeaten 43 weeks in Prakash Theater
in Belguam. This being screened four shows everyday. This
is a history ever created in Belgam and is still going strong
towards one year mark. The film troupe is planning to organize
a grand function there on this landmark of one year completion.
A procession will take place where all technicians and actors
take part. Chandra Chakori released during the controversy
between Exhibitors and producers on service tax issues did
not receive any great publicity nor producer Kumaraswamy spent
time and money on publicity of this films. In other word,
this shows publicity alone cant take the films to new heights.
Off late the trend is to spend heavily on publicity but if
utilized properly, a good film with right kind of publicity
will certainly create history.
Director S. Narayan is thrilled by this response and is busy
in nesting one more story that will be produced by Rockline
Venkatesh. Puneeth will in the lead, which is going to be
his 4th film. Film will hit the floors shortly.
