Rakshita in Deadly Soma
Deadly Somu - a real story

Auditya and Rakshita during Deadly Soma launchTheme in the air is Rowdism for Kannada filmmakers. Of course, it was indeed the success formula off late for many. If you say that is old news, we serve you with something new. Ravi Shreevatsa who worked as a dialogist now teamed up with new producers to direct a new project titled 'Deadly Somu'. Auditya of Adi fame once again plays the lead role with Rakshita.

Like we said in the beginning, titles glorifying rowdies are making good business with exceptions and so is this project. Deadly Soma was a notorious rowdy as per police files but there is a difference of opinion about it in general. However, this flick deals with incidents where a cultured youth from a decent family taking negative route by means of bruising circumstances. The book 'Papigala Lokadalli' by Ravi Belegere inspires Director Shreevatsa and he asserted that the film focuses on sentiment and human values more than guns and goons.

Inspector Ashok Kumar, Bava and Abdul Razeem are the three main police officers involved Deadly Soma's encounter in reality and hence, these characters are vital even in this film. There are chances of inspector Abdul Razeem playing a role in Deadly Soma! Devaraj will appear in khaki and Avinash and Tara plays the parents' role for Auditya.

Director Ravi ShreevatsaRakshita who is considered more as a glamour doll after her performance in Kalasipalya, plays a sensational role here. Her role will somewhat be similar to that of Urmila Marthonkar's role in Hindi film Sathya. "This characterization is so close to my real life, I said yes to the director soon after his brief" says Rakshita who is celebrating her birthday today (May 31).

Though Manjunath and Rajanna are new to film production, they are fascinated by this glamour world and hence this 'Deadly Soma' that hit the floors yesterday (March 30). Director Ravi Shreevatsa himself has penned the story and screenplay while Gurukiran scores the music.
