'Giri' - new Kannada film by producers of Baa Baaro Rasika

Looks like producer Prasad Reddy and Sayendra Reddy are fascinated by the showbiz industry. Inspired by the success of their debut production Baa Baaro Rasika, the duos are all set for their second production with a new team. This film titled 'Giri' went on floors on January 27. Directed by Ravicharan, a Telugu newcomer stars Srinagara Kitty in the lead. Though the director is a Telugu guy, Giri is not a remake of Telugu flick Giri. Instead, this is a friendship oriented story says anti-remake director!

Kitty, a familiar face on small screen played supporting and negative roles in quite a few Kannada movies. Giri for that matter, is his first film as a hero. Another lead actor in this film is Nivas, a debutant again. Sanjana who also played the lead role in 'Chidra' pairs Kitty while Preeti debuts into Kannada as another heroine. Preeti apparently has acted in a few Hindi television serials including 'Meeth' and two Telugu movies. She is a product of Bollywood's ace training institute Kishore Namit Kapoor's School.

Director Ravicharana

In a way, Giri has an interstate team. Producers, director including the music director Chakri are basically from neighboring Andra Pradesh. Chakri who scored for Veera Kannadiga didn't find much success in Kannada. He is trying his luck this time along with his own troupe of singers from there. Though his music for 'Ounu Walliddaru Ishtapaddaru' was a hit, his recent 'Koncham Touch Lo Unte Cheputhanu' was an utter flop. Music recording for Giri has began two weeks back and will have to wait to see how Chakri churnout tunes this time.
