'Thutturi' going great guns!
Golden
Elephant 14, the International Children's Film Festival organized
by Children's Film Society of India is one of prestigious
event where children films from allover the world take part.
This week long festival kick starts at Hyderabad on November
14th (children's day) and concludes on November 20. This year
as many as 16
films from Canada, Germany, Iran, Sweden, Brazil, Norway,
Russia, Korea, China etc are in the competition and from India,
its Kannada film Thutturi
produced by Jayamala and directed by P. Sheshadri (click
here to view the complete list). Interestingly, Thutturi
is the only movie selected for this competition among Indian
contenders. Best film in this competition will receive the
Golden Elephant award plus Rs. 1 lakh cash prize and the second
best will get the Silver Elephant award plus Rs. 50,000. Apart
from these, the Children's Jury award will have a golden flake
plus Rs. 50,000 cash award. All participants will receive
a certificate of participation. Producer Jayamala, director
P. Sheshadri and Master Karthik are invited to take part in
this film festival.
Apparently, Thutturi was the inaugural film at Kolkata Internation
Film Festival that started from November 10 and will end on
November 20.
It's a clear indication of how a well made film with serious
message gets the recognition though has lesser mass appeal.
We at viggy.com hope to see Thutturi going great guns.
