'Panduranga' back in action
Who
is the busy bee in Kannada filmdom of late? Obviously Ravichandran
- the 'Kanasugara'! Year 2004 saw three films of his while
three more are in the pipeline. Malla was a hit movie followed
by Ramakrishna and Sahukara turned out to be an average film.
His latest venture Adishesha and Aham Premaasmi are progressing
briskly. In-between, the movie 'Panduranga Vitala' which created
a lot of hypes, news and controversy, and finally took backseat
is in action now again!
Featuring Ravichandran in triple roles, 'Panduranga Vitala'
was supposed to be directed by D. Rajendra Babu. Conflict
between the director and producers (Ganesh and Praveen Kumar)
soon brought the curtain down. Later, lead actor Ravichandran
himself was supposed to take the responsibility of the lead
man but didn't happen. Stalled project gained momentum finally
when Dinesh Baboo filled the slot of D. Rajendra Babu. With
these changes, songs are already been shot and talky portion
is nearing completion for 'Panduranga Vitala'.
Prema,
who is rare to be seen in Kannada movies these days, is the
counterpart for Crazy Star. Hit pair of 'Kanasugara' is back
once again in 'Panduranga Vitala'. Success of this movie is
pretty crucial for this talented actress. Unfortunately, all
her successful movies were predominated by others - be it
Kanasugara or Yajamana and even recent Aptha Mitra. She never
got a chance to stamp her name in Kannada filmdom. But she
saw the silver lining in Tamil and Telugu film industries.
It is not just Prema who is migrating from Kannada to other
languages but many while filmmakers here prefer outside heroines.
It could be the woes of artists there too!
