Singer turned Actor - Rajesh in Santhosha
Remember
that young singer Rajesh who has won State Award thrice? He
has now come in front of camera apart from being behind the
screen. 'Santhosha' having Rajesh as one of the lead is moving
briskly. This new film has new troupe from director to producer
to lead stars. Other hero of the film is Siddharth hailing
from Kashmir. We happen to visit Abbaiah Naidu studio last
Friday where the Santhosha film troupe was busy with 'light-camera-action'.
Hero Siddarth and heroine Anitha were stepping for a song
choreographed by director Ramesh himself. Another girl in
the lead is Pranathi. Anitha is not a new face to many as
she acted in 'Veera Kannadiga'. Kannada filmdom is new to
Pranathi - a good-looking girl hailing from God's Own Country,
Kerala. She acted in a few Malayalam movies and has modeling
background.
It
was Rajesh who got a chance for a leisured chat, as the rest
were busy shooting. Rekha (Sparsha fame) is the counterpart
for Rajesh who plays the role of a friend of Siddarth. He
voiced for three songs in this film. His involvement as a
hero was just a coincident says Rajesh. When he went for song
recording, director Ramesh explained the story and requested
him to take up this role. That's how Rajesh came in front
of the camera.
Rajesh started his career as a singer in 1991 and received
Karnataka State Award thrice. He is a known singer even in
Tamil and Telugu. Though his professional life was always
on track, not his personal life. His marriage with Soumya
Rao and the break up was a bitter experience for him. Still
it gave him a lot of courage. Rajesh never allowed his personal
life to overshadow his professional life he says. He doesn't
have any regrets about it. Even now he calls up Soumya as
a good friend. In
spite of all these hurdles and tensions, he attained what
he wanted to in his profession. And now is trying his hands
on acting too. According to Rajesh acting is not an easy job
compared to singing. In his first film itself he realized
that action roles are not for him. Instead, feels he can play
soft, romantic characters like the ones Aravind Swamy played
in Roja. Rajesh is ready to act even in future provided he
gets good and interesting roles. He is not targeting lead
roles particularly but should be very demanding and challenging.
So here wishing this budding artist a very good luck.
