No dupes; all real - Siddu
After the disastrous failure of Sarvabhouma, director Mahesh Sukhadhare of Sainika fame has bounced back with renewed vigor and enthusiasm. Looks like Sukhadhare decided to retrospect and come out of patriotic story concepts. He started thinking afresh and opted for a new team. It includes budding star Murali and a new villain from Bollywood for his latest project Siddu mounted last month (Dec. 2004).
Often media hypes certain starts though the ground realities are different. But that is not the case with youngster Murali who surprised everyone right from his debut film Chandra Chakori and later with his performance in Kanti. While his third movie 'Yashavanth' is releasing on February 4th, his latest 'Siddu' is on the finishing edge. A chasing scene for this movie was shot last week on busy roads of Bangalore starting from Gandhi Bazaar till Ulsoor Lake via City Market! Shooting on these roads itself is a herculean task and on top of it, Murali took part in this without dupes! Sounds adventurous? That's how he is! In another sequence for Siddu he jumped from almost 300 feet into a waterfalls. The obvious question is 'why he risks so much…' "I love my movies. So I have to put my best in all aspects" replies this brave youngman. So says the director Sukhadhare, "Murali is a very dedicated actor". Apparently, Sukhadhare is introducing yet another dedicated person Akhilendra Mishra as lead villain.
Theaters and silver screen are no new to Akhilendra Mishra but he debuts into South Indian cinema through Siddu. He made an impact as 'Kroor Singh' in one of the most popular television serial 'Chandra Kantha'. His mannerism and dialogues were the big plus there. Mishra who loves theater performance strongly believes that people don't get paid well in dramas but can learn a lot. He proudly acknowledges M.S. Satyu as his Guru. This character artist has played very impressive roles in Hindi flicks like The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Fida, Lagaan and recent Veer-Zaara. But unfortunately, we wont get to experience his fullest talent as he cant dub in Kannada! However, lets hope to see an impressive 'Rame Gowda'. That is what he will be in Siddu!
Produced by Chandrashekhar, Siddu features Deepa as female lead and is her debut film as heroine.
