A desire comes true...
There
is nothing wrong in dreaming about success when you put your
heart and soul in your work. Dreams live for themselves. But
we live because of them. However, at the end of the day, it's
the fate that plays its card. So happened with actress Soundarya.
Though she hailed from Bangalore, it was Telugu film industry
were she ruled and also acted opposite Tamil, Malayalam and
Hindi superstars. Her own production Dweepa bagged the 'Golden
Lotus' award! But a small desire of hers to get a hit in Kannada
never materialized when she was alive, though many of her
Kannada films were technically good. Ravichandran starrer
'Sipayi' was one of her high expectation
films that failed to do the magic. Today if Soundarya was
alive, would have been the happiest person to see her film
'Aptha Mitra' going strong day by day. This film has completed
silver jubilee and marching towards one year! This is what
Soundarya was looking for in Kannada. Its not about dreaming
but about wanting enough of something to make the world conspire
with you in its achievement. Though 'Aptha Mitra' is a good
teamwork, the lion share goes to Soundarya. It wont be exaggeration
if we say her astonishing performance as Nagavalli is the
key reason for the success of this film. She lived that character
and hence the Telugu dubbed version is titled as 'Nagavalli'
She came, she acted and she conquered everyone's mind. A bright
star from the galaxy diminished disastrously. Its almost an
year since Soundarya and her brother Amar died of an ill fated
Cessna crash on April 17, 2004. Even today, its difficult
to digest it but is a hard truth that Soundarya is no more.
We at viggy.com pay our homage and tribute to this brilliant
actress.
