List of films that are eligible for this year's government subsidy was announced
recently, where some of them are the state award winners of 2001-02 and some
during 2002-03. 'Kalarava' was the best children film, but
was not included in the subsidy list. When viggy.com looked
into this, we came to know that according to a govt. order,
only the first, second and third best films plus the best
social concern films are eligible for subsidy by default.
And hence, Kalarava is not part of the list.
Apparently, 'Balagalittu Olage Baa' directed by Dinesh Baboo
is said to be a remake of a Malayalam movie 'His Highness
Abdullah'. According concerned officials, they have published
the list of movies applied for subsidy in local newspapers
and requested public to inform the committee if they find
any remake movie in the list. But there was no response pertaining
to 'Balagalittu Olage Baa' and even the selection committee
found it eligible. And hence, this movie is part of 'qualified'
films!
Films for 2003-04 are being reviewed now and here is the list.
If you find any remake movie in the list, you can inform the
Committee Chairman Mr. M.S. Sathyu or write to us and we will
forward to them to concerned people.
