When such films are remade, is very challenging as the viewers compare it with its original version. So the success resides in making it better than the original one! Such challenge is now ahead of Sarovar Productions who is producing Swathi Mutyam in Kannada. Home production of actor Sudeep having the title Swathi Muttu is the remake of Telugu hit Swathi Mutyam. This was announced to media on Friday. Sudeep has proven himself in similar challenge in Huccha, which gained immense popularity than its original version. After Sparsha, this is their second home production. The movie is about an autistic person who happens to defy existing social customs and traditions for a good cause. The entire troupe of this film from direction to music to cinematography is special. D. Rajendra Babu is directing the film while National Award winner H.M. Ramachandra will handle the camera; Rajesh Ramanathan scores the music and dialogs by Nagendra Prasad. This same troupe was supposed to make a film by name Varada Nayaka - Director D. a remake of Nayagan starring Kamal Hasan. Due to the delay in this project, Swathi Muttu took priority. As a matter of fact, this is an unexpected decision says Sudeep. Till last couple of week, they didn't know that they are taking this up. But is not a decision made in a hurry nor with over confidence. Many people wanted to take this task of making it in other languages but stepped back due to the challenges they need to face, as this is not a formula commercial film. There are no fights, no dances but every frame is filled with human touch with a lot of scope for acting. Sudeep says, they are making this film not to gain big bucks but he himself, the director, moreover his father liked the movie very much. He feels there should be at least one film where as an actor he has taken a film for acting! "I'm not saying, am going to do better than Kamal Hasan, but I will do my best with all efforts" said Sudeep. He remembers his success through film Huchcha and one of the song 'Usire, usire… composed by Rajesh Ramanathan which is humming in his vain even today. And that is the reason why Rajesh Ramanathan is scoring for Swathi Muttu. For cinematographer Ramachandra, who has done an excellent camera work in Dweepa, Swathi Muttu is going to be slightly different, though he feels there is nothing called art film or commercial film but Actor Sudeep with his father

This film was made in Hindi called Ishwar starring Anil Kapoor but was a failure. However, that may be because of the sudden shift in the image of Anil Kapoor from films like Tejab to Ishwar feels Sudeep.
