Tamil film `Kaveri' banned in Malaysia
The effect of ongoing water war between Karnataka and Tamil
Nadu has resulted in various forms. Recently released Kannada
film H2O featuring Upendra, Prabhudeva and Priyankahas was
dubbed to Tamil and named as Kaveri. This film was released
on last Friday in Chennai. The simultaneous release of Kaveri
in Malaysia has suffered the thumb down. Malaysian authorities
does not allow communal intolerance and hence denied the exhibition
permission of Tamil film Kaveri in Malaysia.
The decision by the Malaysian authorities to ban the release
of the movie has shown the propensity of the water wars to
spill in to alien lands. Kannada version of the same film
had to face a lot of trouble when it was released in Karnataka
couple months back and was reedited due to protest.
