Hollywood film review
Producer Ramu's most expected film 'Hollywood'
is in front of the viewers. Directed by Dinesh Babu,
this film had many plus points for publicity - actor Upendra
in triple role, most expensive film ever made in Kannada,
Australian heroine, extensive usage of computer graphics
and a monkey as one of the attraction. But all these hypes
went in vain. Film Hollywood is nowhere near the expectation.
Director Upendra (Upendra) goes to Hollywood to make a film
and win Oscar. There stays his twin-brother Surendra (Upendra)
who is a sober engineer. The heroine Monisha (Felicity)
falls for Upendra looking at his dashing character while
Surendra was in love with her. So Surendra and his boss
Das (Anantnag) makes a robot called US 47 similar to him
to win the girl's heart. Then starts all the confusion.
The robot US 47 turnout to be more brilliant than they thought.
As a result, he (US 47) starts loving the heroine where
she does not know that it's a robot. There is a monkey Seenu
who leaks out all the plans to US 47 that Surendra and his
boss does to control the robot. Finally when the villains
kidnap US 47 to use it for illegal activities, all others
come to rescue and in the fight, US 47 shatters off.
There are only two things deserve a mention - dialogs of
the monkey Seenu (hired from Chenai) that makes you really
laugh and exotic locations. Some of them really remind Hollywood
movies. With a combination of good professionals like Upendra,
Ramu and Dinesh Babu, it could have been a far superior
film. Its hi-time for Upendra to come out of his usual style.
Ananth Nag as the scientist makes justice to his role. Gurukiran
is out of synch with his experiment on western tunes. Producer
Ramu has ideas of showing this film to school kids at subsidized
fees after completing 50 days. We pity those parents if
their kids watch this film and start using the languages
used in the film against their teachers and parents!
Cast: Upendra, Anath Nag, Felicity and many Australian
artists
