Like the name says, it is a love story. Director Shivamani wears various hats here - of director, producer and hero of the film here. Though it was supposed to be released much earlier, due to various reasons, was finally released last Friday.

Recent development in Kannada film industry is that directors are turning into heroes. Like Sa.Ra. Govindu (Dadru saar dadru), Rockline Venkatesh (Dakota Express), Om Prakash Rao (Dakota Express) even Shivamani is a well-known director turned hero. 'Love You' has everything that's required for a commercial film.

Shiva (Shivamani) is a tough college student. Priya (Damini) falls in love with him. Shiva is sent to Mangalore by his parents after the attack by rowdies in connection with earlier attack by Shiva. There he falls in love with Shalini (Chandni) who happens to be the sister underworld don Roy (Nirmal Pande). Rest are all about fight for love… attack on hero… hero fights back… try to save his love… etc. Will his love survive forms the rest of the film.

Shivamani has produced several good movies so far. And even in this film, is succeeded as director. But his role as a college student is a big minus point. Gurukiran has scored melodious songs with the blend of western and Indian tunes. Shivamani's selection of locations is superb. You can watch the film simply to see those beautiful landscapes captured by Krishnakumar. Nothing exceptional from Damini nor from Chandni. Some of the comedy scenes really tickle. Nirmal Pande, Kashi, Chitra Shenoy, Harish Roy have done justice to their roles.
