Its
now turn for Kannada movies…
Kavitha
Lankesh's much awaited film 'Preethi, Prema, Pranaya' is getting
appreciations from all over the place. Added to this is the
mobile touch to its melodious tunes. Songs from Preethi Prema
Pranaya are now playing on Reliance Mobile handsets. This
is the first Kannada film chosen by the Reliance group. Manager
for Reliance Mobile Services (Karnataka sector) Mr. A. Ravi
said: "We were keen on introducing songs from a Kannada film
and when we heard songs from 'Preethi, Prema, Pranaya' we
felt they were perfect. The songs are meaningful, classy and
appeal to youngsters as well as to the older generation."
Incidentally, Reliance is providing both audio and video versions
of the songs on their mobile handsets. Reliance customers
can use both facilities by going to 'R World' and selecting
audio or video on the menu.
Yet another move to prove that good films are always welcomed
by public as well as industry people. Kavitha Lankesh has
added one more feather to her cap in this direction. You are
well aware that one of the current banes of the Kannada film
industry is the trend of remakes. Kannada film makers have
been rampantly borrowing and stealing stories and songs from
Tamil, Telugu and Bollywood. In this situation, Kavitha Lankesh
has been approached by a Telugu film maker for the remake
rights of 'Preethi, Prema, Pranaya'! This proves that not
only is Kavitha Lankesh's film is good, it is also a trend
starting one, albeit a different and welcome one.
Of late, quite a few Kannada films are being made in other
languages including Telugu, Tamil etc. and whats more, even
in Hindi. Recent hit film Abhi starring Punith Rajkumar and
Ramya will have its Telugu version having Ramya as heroine
and a super hit film of yesteryear Suprabhatha of Sahasa Simha
Vishnuvardhan and Suhasini will be the base for a new Hindi
film starting soon.
'Preethi, Prema, Prayana' is the biggest multi-starrer film
in recent Kannada film history. The film stars Anant Nag,
Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Prakash Rai, Sudha Rani, Bhavana,
Anu Prabhakar, Sunil Rao, Loknath, Shivaram and a number of
others. This film was slated to release last week, it was
postponed due to unavailability of the right theatre as well
as allotment of date from the film chamber. Now the tentative
date has been fixed for 18th of July according to director
Kavitha.
