Preethi Prema Pranaya all set to release
It
all begins with the captain of the ship, Kavitha Lankesh,
who has won international awards for her direction. For her
latest venture 'Preethi, Prema, Pranaya', she put together
a huge cast comprising of award winning stars who also have
a huge fan following. Leading the team is the incomparable
Anant Nag who has bagged six state awards. Pairing
up with him is the multi-lingual actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhan,
who also has a number of awards to her credit. Next in line
is Prakash Rai, who has won both a national and a couple
of state awards. More importantly, he is the first Kannada
actor to have won awards in languages (Tamil and Telugu) other
than in Kannada. Another common feature is that all the above
three stars have acted in various other language films such
as Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam.
The list of award-winners continues with Sudha Rani
who has bagged the state award twice for her acting talents.
Of the younger lot, there are Anu Prabhakar and Bhavana,
who have been bestowed the state award once each. Last by
not the least is Arun Sagar who won the best art director
award last year. In 'Preethi, Prema, Pranaya', Arun Sagar
not only handles the art direction he is also cast in a good
meaty role in the film. What is interesting is that all these
eight award winners come together in 'Preethi, Prema, Pranaya'
which is bound to entertain the masses and also impress the
critics. A musical comedy and a family drama, the film is
all about what 'love' means to different age groups.
A preview of the film held last week for journalists and their
families drew appreciative comments right from teenagers up
to senior citizens. "This is easily the best Kannada film
I have seen in a long time," said a student, while an older
person said "I had a smile on my face throughout the film.
I don't know how the two hours went by." "The rib-tickling
dialogues and the sentimental scenes held the audience captive,"
were the words of a critic,
while fans of the different actors in the film naturally had
their own preferences. Anant Nag's performance easily won
over the audience, while Bharathi Vishnuvardhan impressed
everyone in the climax scene. Sudha Rani's sobering presence,
Bhavana's exciting dance number and Anu Prabhakar's youthful
effervescence also had the audience impressed. The young and
budding Sunil Rao also won appreciation for his sense of timing.
At the end of the special screening, director Kavitha Lankesh,
was congratulated by all for not only putting together such
a stupendously talented cast but also for eliciting great
performances from them in her film. Even before 'Preethi,
Prema, Pranaya' hits the screens, it has already created a
buzz in the Kannada film industry. Industry pundits are predicting
that it is bound to be a super hit. 'Preethi, Prema, Pranaya'
is going to hit the theatres all over Karnataka this week.
In film Preethi Prema Pranaya Kavitha Lankesh wares the various
hats of direction, story, screenplay and dialogues. Mano
Murthy has scored the music while cinematography by A.C.
Mahendran.
