Monalisa - new film by Indrajith Lankesh having Sada and Dhyan in the lead

It is time for Kannada film industry to get transformed from conventional methodologies and formulas to bring new wave and charm to this entertainment channel. Indrajith Lankesh - a young director is back after Lankesh Patrike with new project Mona Lisa. While Lankesh Pathrike was a serious subject, his debut film Tuntata was a hit film for youngsters.

The way world famous painting Mona Lisa of Leonardo da Vinci expresses many feelings, one can see many facets of love in Mona Lisa of Indrajith. He selected Sada, a beautiful girl of Jayam fame for the lead. Though Sandalwood is new to her, she is a well-known actress here through her recent Telugu hit Jayam where she won this year's Filmfare award. Dhyan who entered Kannada film industry through Nanna Preethiya Hudugi is the hero. Mona Lisa is a debut production of Dushyanth and K. Santosh Kumar. very much fascinated towards Kannada filmdom and that made him produce this film. Though the news of this project was announced quite some time back, muhurath took place on last Saturday at Dodda Ganapathi Temple, Basavanagudi.

Monalisa is a cosmopolitan love story and has a lot of scope for music. Babji Sandeep who recently changed his name to Valisha has scored the music putting his best. Singer Shreya Ghoyal of Devdas fame has sung a song with Rajesh. Producer Dushyanth wanted Rajesh to sing the songs, as he is a fan of this young talent from Karnataka. Film troupe has planned for a single schedule of 55 days' shooting and some portion will be shot at Thailand and other places. Both Dhyan and Sada are completely involving themselves in the film says the director. As language is bit of a bottleneck for both, they are discussing their next day's scenes on the previous day and trying to give their best. Both are enjoying their work says Indrajith. Senior stars like Bhavya, Ramakrishna and Rangayanada Raghu are also part of the film. B.A. Madhu has penned the dialogues while K. Krishnakumar is behind the camera.

Dhyan

Indrajith says, he never believes in safe betting. Many of his well wishers suggested him to direct a mother sentiment or a father sentiment film keeping a village backdrop that will mint money in B and C centers. But he is not interested in run of the mill films says the director. He continued saying, the story of this film is not something out of the world but is an attempt to transform the way Kannada films are being made today and bring new dimension to direction leaving conventional formulas. Indrajith is confident that the transformation is very much possible and film Khushi is an example for that. He feels this effort may inspire others in making quality films.
