Puneeth Rajkumar is all set for his new film

After consecutive two hit films Appu and Abhi, Puneeth Rajkumar is now all set to hit a hat trick with is new film, yet to be named. Muhurath of this film was held at Rockline studio last Friday. Though is a Kannada film, except the stars, all other technicians are from Telugu filmdom. Puri Jagannath has written the story and screenplay for this film produced by K.S. Rama Rao with Mevar Ramesh's direction. Mevar Ramesh had worked as an assistant director with Puri Jagannath and this is his directorial debut. This will be shot simultaneously in Kannada and Telugu While Kannada version stars Puneeth and Anita (from Bollywood) in lead while Junior N.T.R and Rakshita pairs in Telugu version in Puri Jagannath's direction with the title 'Andra Wala'. Puri has already completed two songs and some talky portion of Telugu Wala. Chakri has scored the music. As per current schedule both versions will be released at the same time. According to director this film will double the popularity of Puneeth that he gained through his earlier films.

Dr. Rajkumar, Parvathamma Rajkumar, Junior N.T.R, Shivarajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar, Ramkumar, Jayasri Devi, Saiprakash, Basanthkumar Patil etc were present in the Muhurath.

Puneeth got this project four months back. He liked his character in the film and also the technician crew. He is more keen on these aspects rather than the production banner. He said "Whether this film will double my image or not is left to my director. My intention is to give good films. When we make a film, that should meet viewers' expectation and they should like it. My role in this film is entirely different from my earlier films. I play the role of a frank guy and I liked it."

Producer K.S. Rama Rao watched both Appu and Abhi and he liked Puneeth's performance in those films. According to Ram Rao, Punneth is energetic and suits the character well. This film has 6 songs and one of them will be common for both Telugu and Kannada versions. Though is a mega budget film(producer has paid quite an interesting amount to Puri Jagannath for story and screenplay too!) they are not shooting it in abroad. Is scheduled for 30 days and will be shoot within Karnataka. Cinematographer is Venkat R. Prasad who worked for some Telugu and Hindi films too. He was the cinematographer for Hindi film 'Love Keliye Sala Kuch Bhi Karega'

Heroine Anitha hails from Mumbai, who started her film career through Telugu film Nuvvu Nenu and she has acted in 6 Telugu films so far. Teja is her godfather who introduced her to Telugu. A few years back Ekta Kappor of Balaji Telefilms introduced her to silver screen through her mega serial Kabhi Sautan Kabhi Saheli. After that Anitha entered Telugu film industry. In between she acted in one Hindi film 'Kuch Tho Hai' opposite Tushar Kapoor. Her number Ding Dong Ding Bole in Kuch Tho Hai was quite popular. She is handling two more projects in Bollywood. As she says Ekta is her godfather (godmother) in Bollywood.
