Rakshita, Shyam and Ramya
Tananam Tananam - film by Kavita Lankesh

The vibrancy of Tananam Tananam… has begun. Director Kavita Lankesh 'formally' announced her latest project Tananam Tananam last weekend which will mount on February 15. Reason for this pre-launch press conference as stated by Kavita is that the information about this project was prematurely published Kavita Lankeshby some publications which were misleading in nature and also caused some amount of discrepancy within the team. She made it a point to 'stress' that both Ramya and Rakshita are playing equally important roles. "I chose them not because they are the heartthrobs of Kannada film industry but the roles are an apt fit for them. Only they can justify those roles" said Kavita to put an end to all gossips floating around. Tananam Tananam… is a product of N.M. Suresh's banner Tulaja Bhavani Creations.

'Tananam Tananam' is a triangle love story. This story about love, laughter, pain and sacrifice is told in the background of classical music and professional theatre. Film has an apt and intriguing title and a baseline - 'Preethiya Pallavi'. Though Kavitha has written the story, she admits that, it is an inspiration of a Tamil short story written by noted writer Kalki. Girish Karnad, Bharati Vishnuvardha, Ramya, Rakshita, Daisy Bopanna etc are in the casts. As it stands now, Shyam, a Bangalore boy plays the lead role. He acted in quite a few Tamil movies and Tananam Tananam... will be his Kannada debut.

Rakshita, Bharati Vishnuvardhan and RamyaLike most of N.M. Suresh's productions, here too music plays a major role. Well known violinist Dr. L. Subramaniam will be playing the classical notes. Little Buddha, Salam Bombay etc are a few of his popular film projects. Apparently, Dr. Subramaniam has been honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award and in 1981, was nominated for Grammy Award. K. Kalyan is taking care of music and lyrics. A.C. Mahendran will handle the camera.
