Tananam Tananam in full swing
After
a short gap Kavitha Lankesh is back with her latest venture
'Thananam Thananam' starring Ramya, Rakshitha and Shyam. This
film is being produced by N M Suresh of the 'Excuse Me' fame.
Shooting for this film has already begun in Abbai Naidu studio.
Art director Ismail has erected two huge fine sets for the
film.
Usually
all directors take love subjects in their early films. But
its vice versa in the case of Kavitha. She never worked on
run-of-the-mill subjects. Kavitha entered the film industry
with an offbeat film 'Deviri'. She continued her journey with
more such films. But for the first time she is handling a
triangular love subject.
Kavitha assures that this won't be a routine love drama. 'Though
it's a love story we are emphasizing more on human emotions.
We will also tell the problems faced by the drama artistes
these days. This film is based on the famous Tamil writer
Kalki's short story. We have taken only the crux of that story
and formed a beautiful script which would appeal to the audience
worldwide' says Kavitha.
Kavitha says, this film revolves around the theatre and classical
dance. So, she has added some popular elements of the theatre
in this film. Theatre lovers would be delighted to hear that
some scenes from Chandrashekara Kambara's 'Sambashiva Prahasana'
and also some of the scenes from 'Koravanji' will be added
here. And also a folk song called 'Kalitha Hudugi' will be
seen here. Another speciality is Rakshitha for the first time,
acting as a stage artiste in this film. She will be seen all
those plays and for the first time will be seen in Menake
and Koravanji getups.
Apart
from Rakshitha, Ramya and Shyam, Jnanapeeth award winner Girish
Karnad, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Lakshmi Chandrashekar, Sringeri
Ramanna will also be seen in this film.
After a long time Girish Karnad is acting a Kannada film.
'These days I have stopped believing scripts. I just bank
on the directors because I don't have much faith on the scripts.
So, I just told Kavitha, if you really want me to act, I will
definitely act. She has given me a good and challenging role.
Though I am playing a music teacher role, it has got nothing
to do with the role I did in 'Ananda Bhairavi'. This one is
quite different from that role' concluded Girish Karnad.
