Audio release of film Y2K
Year
2000 problem that created havoc in IT industry was a buzzword
2 years back. However, the term Y2K
was titled to a Kannada movie produced by Kolar Kumar,
Manjunath Reddy and Bhopal Reddy almost a year
back is now getting ready for release and the audiocassette
of the film was released last week at Green House, Bangalore.
Lahari Recording Company - a leading audio house in
Bangalore owns the music rights for this film. Chief guest
Superstar Upendra and the owner of Lahari Recording
Company G. Tulasiram Naidu (Velu) released the audio.
Its after a long interval Lahari appeared on a film project.
Reason is very simple. People who are quality conscious obviously
are staying away from Kannada filmdom. There is absolutely
no originality or melody off late in our film music. Stealing
tracks from other languages has become a norm here. Our music
directors should cultivate the habit of being 'creators' said
Velu on this occasion.
N. Lokanath of H2O fame has directed Y2K. Notice the specialty
of both titles! Kokila Sadu has scored the music here who
has done a good job of music direction for H2O as well as
with recent super hit Rakta Kanneeru. Y2K having six songs
are penned by Dr. Nagendra Prasad, Ramnarayan, Lokanath N.
and Bhangiranga. Udit Narayan, Chitra, Rajesh Krishna, Hariharan,
Swarnalata, Dr. Shamita, Vijay Urs, Usha Nagachandrika, Sadhu
Kokila and Suresh Peter have voiced for these songs. Y2k having
Prasad and Mitisha Sharma in the lead is expected
to hit the screen by end of February or early March.
