Film Nandi is an out and out Sudeep film. This starts with the gruesome murder. Story of this film revolves around a young man Nandi(Sudeep) who has a label of murderer. His father was a rowdy. So his mother (Ambika) tries to keep her son away from her husband and wants her son to become a good citizen. But in his childhood itself he kills his classmate. His mother disinherits him. After released from the jail he joins the law collage for further studies. But the fate won't allow Nandi to reach his mother. Two of his friends happen to see a murder committed by a rowdy(Ashish Vidhyarthi) gang. When both of them agrees to appear as witnesses, rowdy gang tries to kill them. Nandi fights with that gang and protects his friends. Witnessing this fight, his mother thinks that his son has not changed even after staying in a jail for a long time. She once again develops a gape between them.

Between all these problems he finishes his graduation in law. As soon as he hears that he won a gold medal at the Law University he decides to meet his mother to give this good news so that she can feel proud about her son. After reaching his mother's place he finds that his mother has left the city. He finds his mother in at the railway station. He pleads his mother to come back. At last he convinces his mother and just as she is about to join her son, the same rowdy gang attacks Nandi. He fights back. In this fighting Nandi's mother kills a rowdy. Nandi fights the case in the court and wins it. Film ends with a happy ending.

Sudeep has done an excellent job. He proves himself in action, sentiment and dynamic character. Romance takes a back seat. So heroine does not have much opportunity to show their talents. Music by Gurukiran is okay. But the sad part of the film is that the wrong fit of a great actor like Ashish Vidhyathi as Danny. He looks like a buffoon with strange costumes and make-up. There was no need to bring person like him to do such a cranky role. Its sheer waste of his capabilities. Ambika has done a neat job.
