Pakka
Chukka film review
S.
Narayan who has given several good films Jameendarru, Simhadriya
Simha, Suryavamsha, also acted in many movies especially with
Ramesh in Kothigalu Saar Kothigalu and Kurigalu Saar Kuriga.
With Pakka Chukka, Narayan also turns into a music director.
But this poorly done film with savorless dialogues and bland
jokes surprises whether it is really a Narayan's film! This
makes it look like Narayan is running out of ideas. If you
think by wearing a strange brown hair wig will make you an
American or peeing on someone's face in the bathroom is utter
comedy, then yes Pakka Chukka is also a comedy film!
This story roles around a mistaken identity. Nani (S. Narayan)
and Rami (Ramesh) are two painters who witness a murder. As
a result, the murderers manage to push these two to a mental
hospital telling that they are mentally retarded
guys. Somehow they escape from there and lands-up at a rich
man's (Doddanna) house. He mistakes Pakka and Chukka as if
they came from America and his would-be son-in-laws. But the
actual grooms are beaten at the airport and are hospitalized.
The girls (Ruchita
Prasad and Mahalaxmi) too start loving them. Pakka and Chukka
decides to stay there, as that is the safest place to escape
from the hunt of mental hospital people and the cops. In the
mean time, all plans of Chandru (Mukyamanthri Chandru) and
Sundru (Sundar Raj) who wants to loot Doddanna fail every
time in silly situations. Then enter the criminal minded fathers
of Pakka and Chukka (S. Narayan and Ramesh again) who founds
out that their sons are getting royal treatment at Doddanna's
house. They too enter the house disguises themselves as Pakka
and Chukka. How the truth comes out? What happens to the girls
and actual grooms forms the climax.
Wicked jokes, poor dialogs with the touch of double meaning
make the film boring than entertaining. S. Narayan who is
capable of doing much better creations disappoints the viewers
being a producer, actor, director, writer and music director.
It is surprising to see Ramesh in such roles keeping aside
all his talents. Mukyamanthri Chandru, Sundar Raj, Shobraj
as police inspector all look over acting in their roles. Ruchita
Prasad and Mahalaxmi are there just to add glamour with shorts
and minis. Doddanna and Mandeep Roy as cook add some relief.
Nothing to talk about music apart from two OK songs. Overall,
is an overdosed comedy film without sync.
