Paris Pranaya film review
One
of the brilliant films that hit the big screen this week in
the form of 'Paris Pranaya' directed by ace
director Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar. Always known for new
experiments and the touch of excellence, Nagathi has panned
his viewpoint towards east this time. Person
who gave super hit films like America America and Nanna Preethiya
Hudugi which was shot mainly in the US, now has picturized
Paris Pranaya in many parts of Europe namely Paris, Rome,
Spain and Southern France in its splendor as well as Vishwa
Kannada Sammelana in America. He carries the films on his
shoulder as a director, storywriter, lyricist, dialogs, and
whats more even as an actor! Of course, equal credits goes
to rest of the crew including music, cinematography and the
artists' troupe. The perfection in fusing Indian and European
culture, music and the kind of comparison and justifications
he makes in his narration shows his homework.
There are many films in the past that revolves around a village
girl and city boy. But handling such story line to suite current
trend and the taste of young generation certainly requires
a great level of expertise. So is Paris Pranaya which starts
with a traditional family of H.K. Master (Rajesh) who is a
music maestro. And his grand daughter Poorvi (Minal Patil)
is a singer too. Her uncle Adithya (Sharth Lohithashwa) who
works for a recording company involved in music piracy in
Paris plots a plan to get Poorvi to Paris. She meets an Indian
boy Kris alias Krishna (Raghu Mukherjee) in her music college.
'One
foot' distance between their friendship gradually vanishes
and both of them fall in love. But
this leads to a problem as Adithya's 45 year old boss Hari
wanted to marry her for which this drama of bring her to Paris
was played
by her uncle. Kris manages to escape Poorvi from this trap
but due to unexpected conditions, they dispel and Poorvi returns
to India. Kris follows her and reaches her village. Will he
be able to convince Poorvi's family? Will Poorvi accept him
back? How is Kris ect uncovers at the end.
Nagathihalli excels once again in Paris Pranaya through sharp
dialogs, sober comedy apart from introducing two new talents
to Kannada film industry in the form of Raghu Mukherjee and
Minal Patil. Both have done a good job especially Raghu with
tap dance and Minal in classical dance. Music by Prayog is
a welcoming experiment including the title song and 'Krishna
nee begane baaro…' song by Shreya and Mysore Ananthswamy's
'Ede Thumbi Haadidenu…' song by Nanditha in its original tune.
Choreography and cinematography lend adequate support as well.
Tara steals the show as 'Cell Sita' Sharath Lohitashwa, Sudha
Delawadi, Sundarraj, Rajesh, Sumalatha have extended their
equal support making the film a treat.
