Kavitha
Lankesh, requesting people
to help Anand
who is in the hospital bed...
This
is Anand R. an assistant cameraman. Like hundreds of other
teenage boys who come to Bangalore to seek a job, Anand too came
from a small village near Shimoga fifteen years back.
Anand worked at many odd jobs; a waiter, an electrician and also
an announcer about local dramas from a horse cart, until he found
his passion for theater and cinema.
Anand has had the distinction of having worked with almost all the
well-known people in Kannada theater and film industry. He worked
with Shankar Nag for Malgudi Days, Girish Karnad for Nagamandala
and also with G.S. Bhaskar for the film version of Nagamandala.
He has been working with award winning cameramen such as Mapakshi,
G.S. Bhaskar and the recently awarded H.M. Ramachandra.
His life seemed fine till the fateful day of 8th August 2002. Anand
who always been energetic and over enthusiastic, fell down from
15 feet high during a shoot. He was immediately shifted to Hosmat
Hospital, the orthopedic center. Here has been diagnosed as having
a broken spine and ankle. Though Prakash Rai the lead actor
in the film very generously donated some money on the spot and some
more was collected from the producer and technical team, the money
is till insufficient. The operation is costing more than Rs.
2,50,000.00. ( Two Lakhs and fifty thousand)
Anand has a wife and a 9 year old son depending on him and if the
operation is not conducted immediately, he will never be able to
go back to his passion and might be bed ridden.
We request you to help him lead a normal life. You can send your
donations through cheque or cash addressed to :
Mr. Anand. R. C/o Kavitha Lankesh, No.9. E.A. T. Street, Gandhi
Bazaar, Bangalore - 560 004. Ph : 6619532.
